Summer Holiday Adventures in Fort William

One of the things Scotland is most famous for is her amazing tourist attractions, and Fort William is no different. Thanks, in part, to Vertical Descents outdoor adventure centres. In 2014 there were 6.51million trips taken throughout Scotland to some of our most visually outstanding locations, so much so for the last ten years Fort William has been famed as the “outdoor capital of the UK” and we agree!

The Summer holidays is finally upon us so what better time than over the next six weeks to pack the family up into the car and enjoy an adventure of a lifetime in Fort William? We offer some of the best adrenaline fuelled Scotland based activities the Highlands have to offer. What’s more, the journey to Fort William alone is full of beauty, you will travel through some of the world’s most breath-taking views you’ll wish could last forever.

You’ll be led across the stunning Scottish coastline and be able to experience the joy of jumping from cliffs and exploring ancient coastal caves. You will experience whirlpools and natural Jacuzzis the whole family can play in.

W promise you've never experienced flumes like the natural ones etched into the coastline, with dolphins and seals as your swimming partners this is one flume experience you won’t forget in a hurry. Don’t worry if you’ve got little ones, our highly trained team members only take you on a trip that your experience and skill level can handle.

Canyoning & Gorge Walking

Canyoning and gorge walking through the stunning Scottish landscape are one of the most memorable outdoor experiences you will ever undertake. If you love adrenaline fuelled activities then canyoning is for you. You can expect; cliff jumping into natural pools, wild swimming, abseiling down waterfalls and scrambling under them as a team. Our staff are highly trained in all our activities and will push you to your limits, but only if you’re up for it. Our canyoning experiences can be tweaked to suit your party’s needs and skill level.

For those with younger families looking to enjoy an adventure weekend in Scotland then gorge walking could be more suitable. Gorge walking is the younger brother to the full-on thrill of canyoning. Gorge walking involves all the fun of jumping and sliding, but all downstream with no abseiling or diving. You’ll experience Mother Nature at her best, all whilst being led by our highly experienced and passionate team members who provide complete safety equipment and training for your adventure.
