Combined Rock and Water Workshop
This workshop will look into the skills involved in leading groups through gorges and canyons.
Workshop Objectives:-
- To introduce instructors to the basics of risk assessment within this environment.
- To give a good understanding of water hydrology and river hazards.
- To introduce basic rope systems.
- Understanding of ropes in water.
- Safety talks and their importance.
- Moving around in rivers.
- Personal and group safety equipment.
- Rescue techniques.
- Leading a group.
- Picking an appropriate venue.
This two day course will get you into places you didn't know existed, show you how to put the adventure back into your activities, and teach you the techniques required to lead groups through these Gorges, Canyons, Gills and Burns.
This 2 day course will appeal to:- Outdoor Instructors and Enthusiasts, Guides, Adventure seekers, Mountain Rescue teams, Social Workers and Teachers etc.
