All of our activities are tailor-made to suit your needs, we can arrange transport to and from venues and even travel to where you are in order to maximise the time you have. All our trips are run daily starting from their venue at 09.30 or 13.30. Clients can either be met at the coastal location at this time or can be met by Vertical Descents for transportation prior to the trip (pre arrangement only).

Safety is our absolute priority. Throughout our years of operation, we have developed comprehensive safety systems. The wilderness environment in which we operate is often demanding and testing. Therefore we have developed activities that are safe, exciting and adventurous.

All instructors are committed to providing the highest level of service possible. We continuously monitor and review your feedback to ensure that this happens. Our instructors are also trained and qualified to the highest standard, with experience from all over the world.

Vertical Descents provides Swift water rescue training to Rescue teams nationwide and are technical advisors on canyoning, gorge walking and coasteering for a number of different centres as well as providing combined rock and water skills courses.

Vertical Descents has tried many different combinations of equipment in many different situations for both clients and instructors. We feel that we have designed a combination of kit which keeps everyone warm, comfortable and, most importantly, safe. With basic but effective techniques we can use the equipment to maximise your enjoyment in each activity.

We use top of the range reinforced wetsuits which are changed on a regular basis ensuring comfort and warmth. We also have comfortable helmets and Buoyancy Aids to provide you with the most up to date safety equipment possible.

All of our equipment is thoroughly checked before and after every trip to ensure that you receive the highest possible quality at every session.

 

We are affiliated with many organisations in order to offer the highest possible quality and safe service. Being experts in the field of swift water rescue and offering skills courses to the Fire Service and Mountain Rescue we feel that we are at a level of competency that ensures safe practice to all of our customers.

All of our staff have qualifications in adventurous activities and all have had the highest level of in house training that can be provided.

The organisations which we are affiliated to are governing bodies who ensure the standard of practice is safe as well as enabling us to have a license to operate with under 18’s. The bodies are:

• S.C.R.A.W.A (Scottish Combined Rock and Water Association)
• BSA (British Surfing Association)
• RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society)
• PKSF (Power Kite Sports Federation)

All of our staff enjoy and practice the activities we provide, not only in the working environment but in their own time as well. The enthusiasm and abilities ensure that you are guided or coached in a manner which is not only safe but caters to your learning ability.
